Our client, a well-established company based in Wooburn Green, is looking to recruit a Finance Systems Analyst (temporary contract) to work in conjunction with the Senior Finance Systems Account, managing the finance system from both a process and data quality perspective.
Whilst driving continuous improvement and taking the lead on projects when required, you will also be ensuring the successful review and implementation of process changes. Using their current in-house system, you will also be managing the Finance Service Desk and answering all daily operational queries within the agreed SLA. You will also be setting system permissions and maintaining the approval hierarchy in line with the Group’s headcount position and code of governance.
Working closely with the Senior Systems Accountant and the Finance Team, you will be maintaining the quality of data held within the system to increase the accuracy of financial reporting. You will also be supporting the Senior Systems Accountant with finance transformation projects and assisting with making Tax Digital .
£15-£17 Hour (D.O.E.)
Responsibilities
* Provision of support and guidance to colleagues in relation to the finance system
* Assisting the Senior Systems Accountant in collecting/translating user requirements into robust systems/process improvements
* Assisting in other areas of the Finance Department as and when required, in terms of data analyses, ensuring timely/accurate production of management information and financial reports
* Collecting/translating users and/or systems requirements into functional technical specifications in collaboration with the IT Manager and Senior Systems Accountant
* Providing support to the Management and Financial Accounting Team with the reporting of business activities through critical and expert analysis, leading to the simplification, enhancement and optimisation of accounting processes and reporting capabilities
* The day to day operational management of the Finance Service Desk, setting SLAs and ensuring appropriate prioritisation is applied
* Managing expectations of stakeholders
* Providing assistance to the Finance Team with the analysis and delivery of data, providing analytical and Excel support to achieve desired outcomes from existing system data and current reporting models
* Engaging in project work as part of a team (or as an individual), contributing ideas and innovative solutions for the development of management information and IT systems
* Liaising with internal/external auditors ensuring they receive all the financial system support they require to carry out their reviews effectively
Experience Needed
* Part qualified accountant or studying towards (or with) an ATT qualification
* Experience of reviewing processes, improving and implementing new working practices
* Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to produce pivot tables, graphs and illustrative tables
* Experience of successfully managing projects
* Clear and concise verbal and written and presentation skills
* Analytical with the ability to draw inferences from data, converting into meaningful information for non-finance audiences
* Accuracy with strong attention to detail
* Ability to problem solve, organise own workload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
* Ability to build effective working relationships with both internal and external customers/stakeholders
* Confident communicator (with the ability to communicate complex analysis to a diverse audience to ensure understanding) and with strong stakeholder management skills
