Job Title: Head of Finance
Location: Old Wolverton, Milton Keynes
Reports to: Company Shareholders
Hours of work: 2-3 days per week
Salary: £TBC
Summary of Position:
The role of Head of Finance is to efficiently and accurately oversee the financial management of the business. The role reports to the Company Shareholders assuming a hands-on role with responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations of the company.
Duties will cover the full spectrum of finance operations, including budgeting and forecasting, preparation of management accounts, cash flow management and auditing. The role also includes management of the IT systems and supporting companies.
The Head of Finance will be a talented, professional and experienced individual, capable of managing a diverse list of tasks as well as leading the finance team. This role involves liaising with departments across the business, supporting them in managing their budgets and financial planning.
Primary Responsibilities
* Work with the Management Team to shape and drive the strategy for Sonatest.
* Maintain and develop the Finance KPI’s for the business.
* Take the Financial lead in ensuring good financial control throughout the group – UK/US/Canada and India.
* Advise the Executive team of key changes to Statutory and Corporate Regulation.
* Review the monthly management accounts (prepared by the Finance team) with KPI’s and deliver to the Executive team.
* Management and direction of all financial resource employed in the business – direct reports- UK Financial Controller and Canadian Financial Controller.
* Mentor the Finance team to ensure they are effectively motivated and aligned to the strategy development of Sonatest.
* Bank signatory – approval of US and UK payments in conjunction with approval levels.
* Overall Management of the budget cycle for the group and providing variance to actuals in conjunction with team.
* Oversea Group Consolidation under UK GAAP.
* Work with US external auditors to ensure US practices are compliant with tax and accounting regulations.
* Financial assessment of all capital investments, determining the viability of the investment and measuring return on all investments.
* Overseeing the filing of VAT, statutory accounts and corporation tax returns.
* Develop and manage Transfer pricing.
* Maintain a strong relationship with the company bankers, auditors and insurers.
* Oversea the company’s fleet policy and insurance policies.
* Act as lead in the Company’s IT use of Navision RTC 2009.
* Manage the IT function – in conjunction with the outsourced IT company.
* Oversee the annual audit process – ensure Board sign off in conjunction with external auditors goes as smoothly as possible.
* Prepare information for tax computations in conjunction with external auditors including R&D tax claim.
* Group company secretarial duties.
* Managing project accounting, monitoring project financial performance, cost to complete and project/programme profitability.

The Ideal Candidate:
* Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
* Relevant experience at senior management level.
* Relevant experience working in manufacturing environment.
* Have experience in using Navison
* Be able to demonstrate commercial acumen.
* Be an influential and trusted leader who can build relationships across all levels
