Job Description
The Arcadis air quality team are small specialist team, which work on a range of air quality projects and bids. Reporting to the Air Quality discipline lead, the (Senior) Air Quality Consultant will take ownership of completing air quality assessments for projects such as road schemes, mixed use developments and energy projects.
At Arcadis variety comes as standard, and as part of your role you will undertake a variety of complex projects, which includes our work on large national infrastructure projects such as the Lower Thames Crossing road scheme, to smaller standalone planning applications to support residential/mixed use developments.
The team works closely with clients such as Highways England and supports them with undertaking research into potential mitigation measures including an air quality barrier and vegetation. Our work with Highways England also includes the management of their National Air Quality Monitoring network which consists of over 50 automatic analysers.
In addition, the team have contributed to the development of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) Air Quality guidance used to undertake road scheme air quality assessments in the UK.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
* Lead on the completion of air quality assessments
* Undertaking air quality and other environmental monitoring surveys across the UK
* Data analysis, manipulation and interpretation
* Preparation of technical reports
* Modelling using air quality modelling software
* Assisting with the preparation of air quality proposals, bids and marketing material
* Being familiar with, and compliant with, relevant H&S regulations
* Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time
Requirements
* Environmental Science / Air Quality Degree
* Member on the Institute of Air Quality Management (MIAQM)
* Experience of undertaking air quality assessments of a range of schemes from Roads to Mixed use developments
* Experience of undertaking air quality monitoring
* Experience in air quality modelling software packages ADMS (Roads) (essential), Breeze AERMOD (Desirable)
* Experience in using GIS software, such as Arc
* High level of proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Access
* A full UK driving licence
