Job Description
Our Landscape, Masterplanning and Urbanism (LMU) team is a team of 50 + people, who are working on major infrastructure projects, large-scale masterplans, city centre public realm, regeneration projects, green infrastructure strategies and landscape masterplanning for some of the UK’s largest residential and mixed-use developments as well as significant infrastructure projects such as:
* High Speed 2
* Lower Thames Crossing
* Northstowe Masterplan / Urban extension
* Otterpool Park Garden Settlement
* Perry Barr Regeneration Development
* Walsall town centre regeneration projects
* Various Future High Street Fund projects and Town Investment Funds
* Rochdale Canal and various other Projects (Canal and River Trust)
Our team is looking to recruit a Landscape Architect on Associate Technical Director level on an initial 18-month fixed term contract to join our HS2 team, which consists of approx. 25 people. The team is working on Schedule 17, scheme design and detailed design package deliveries.
As part of our HS2 team you will have a strong focus on taking a technical lead role in the delivery of the Detailed Design Packages. You will collaborate and lead multi-disciplinary teams including our in-house disciplines and high-profile designers as well as our leading external partners. You’ll have the opportunity to work on one of the UK’s largest, most complex and technically demanding project.

Requirements
* Degree/Diploma in landscape architecture or closely related subject. Chartered membership with Landscape Institute or equivalent
* Technical lead and management of HS2 related landscape work, shaping and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients, including detailed design experience
* Trusted client advisor – experienced in building relationships with Senior Client Team members, internally and externally. Able to understand their needs and drivers, ability to shape and influence outcomes
* Confident in designing illustrative conceptual layouts, including hand-drawing and graphic skills
* Experienced in leading the production of design/development briefs, design codes and design and access statements
* Confident in leading the design report production and creatively combining graphics and text to communicate design ideas
* Experience in Project Wise, AutoCAD and 3d modelling software, and experienced Adobe Suite user
* Ability to lead by example working on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, ideally within a consultancy environment
* Ability to work within commercial constraints to provide output on budget and programme
* Skilled communicator with experience of attending and facilitating stakeholder and community consultation
* Experience as a Line Manager, ability to manage with proactive dialogue encompassing staff wellbeing and personal development. Understanding of staff professional development needs and career pathway
* Driving licence
