INTERVENTIONS ALLIANCE is a division of Seetec and will be delivering CFO Activity Hubs. The Activity Hubs project is funded via the HM Prison & Probation Service Co-financing Organisation (HMPPS CFO). We offer tailored support for offenders who, due to their multiple or complex barriers are unable to access or fully benefit from mainstream services. The programme, available following release from prison and to those serving community sentences, has dual aims – to increase effective engagement with core probation services and to encourage participation in activities to help individuals lead law abiding lives. Participants are enabled to access tailored support, appropriate to their individual circumstance and assessed needs. The activities include a holistic range of social, creative and group activities and the opportunity to interact with positive role models and peers.
Attendance is voluntary and there is no statutory or any other form of compulsion. To facilitate participation, a key focus will be on providing a warm, welcoming and enabling environment. CFO Activity Hubs provide a safe and supportive space where participants can, and most importantly want to engage. Hubs are placed in the heart of local communities, involving local organisations and/or community representatives, to increase integration and the availability of local support for participants.
The aim is to provide a comprehensive programme of activities to enable participants, to engage with support available through existing provision. Ultimately, the aim is to address barriers to work and/or equip individuals with the necessary skills needed to desist from offending and successfully reintegrate into to their local communities.
Join our team as a Learning Facilitator and support our hub participants to overcome barriers to employment and desist from crime. You will facilitate a positive learning environment in which the participants are enabled to develop new skills and achieve accredited learning, so experience of delivering and developing training programmes is essential.
Our successful candidate would ideally have recent criminal justice sector operational knowledge or experience; however we would also love to hear from you if you have a qualification or certificate in Education or equivalent.
We need your excellent time planning and organisation skills as you support the delivery of individually tailored plans, facilitating participants’ access to training/qualifications.
You will also have the ability to engage with individuals who have experienced disadvantage and/or have multiple complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to the creation of a welcoming and inclusive hub environment
• Support delivery of individually tailored plans
• Contribute to the design and delivery of hub activities
• Deliver training/learning opportunities in accordance with contractual requirements
• Facilitate access to remote learning using a range of digital technologies and platforms
• Publicise and promote training opportunities
• Evaluate and monitor the quality of training provision and contribute to internal quality audits
• Maintain accurate records of participant training activities
• To facilitate training/accredited learning within a safe environment for participants, staff, visitors and the wider community
• Assist in the development of employee training and contribute to employee induction and training
• Design, develop and host appropriate ‘train-the-trainer’ sessions
Skills & Experience
Essential
• Award in Education and training level 3 (Formerly PTLLS) or certificate in Education and Training level 4 (formerly CTLLS) or equivalent – essential
• GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at Grade C or above – desirable. Equally important is the ability to demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills, to support learning within a previous similar role.
• Experience of working with individuals who have experienced disadvantage and have multiple complex needs.
• Understanding of the barriers to employment, faced by individuals within the criminal justice system and/or with complex needs.
• Knowledge of the employability industry, developing and delivering employability skills and personal development training programmes
• Experience of delivering and developing training programmes face to face and/or remotely using digital technologies.
• Experience of deploying motivational strategies to support those with multiple/complex needs.
• Fully IT literate in using a range of Microsoft Office programmes to include 365 products and digital technologies, e.g. Microsoft Teams.
Desirable
• Recent criminal justice sector knowledge / experience
• Experience of delivery within an enabling, supportive environment
• Experience of delivering services to meet contractual and quality standards
• Dyslexia/Dyscalculia awareness and/or qualification
Location: Warrington
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week (Mon-Fri)
