Brownlee Dean are delighted to be recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a national civil engineering contractor who have secured a high amount of work in central England. They're carrying out a recruitment drive to bring the best civil engineering professionals in the region into their business.
The purpose of this role is to taking responsibility for the commercial and contract management of one or more designated engineering subcontract, together with the wider support of the Project and Commercial Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* NEC3 Contract management
* Support the Commercial Manager to deliver the commercial aspect of the project accordingly to ensure it's completed to budget and on time.
* Preparation of applications of payment
* Manage internal cash flow
* Preparation of operation and subcontract orders
* Cost Reporting
* Site visits and cost assessments
* Liaise with Site Teams ensuring compensation events or claims are upheld
* Track project performance and data
* Maintain contract records and correspondence
* Preparation of cost forecasts
* Understand and deliver the clients requirements, building relationships for future contracts
* Encourage development of the QS team
Key Experience
* Proven experience as a main or specialist contractor in a senior commercial role
* IT literate
Personal Skills:
* Good relationship builder at all levels
* Good level of numeracy
* Can do and flexible approach to work
* Effective decision maker
Certificates & Qualifications
* Quantity Surveying Degree
* Professional Membership (i.e ICE/RICS)
