We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Social Worker to join us at our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The Huntercombe Hospital Maidenhead, located in Taplow 4 miles from Maidenhead and 1 mile from junction 7 of the M4 motorway.
The Huntercombe Hospital Maidenheadis a 60 bedded Tier 4 CAMHS hospital for young people aged 12 -18 years with a range of mental health disorders and includes the following units:
* A General Adolescent Unit (GAU)
* Two Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs)
* An Eating Disorder Unit (EDU)
We require a Senior Social Worker to join our dedicated department and work in partnership with a busy multi- disciplinary team. As part of the social work team we require someone who will provide professional social work direction and support across the unit. The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of social work services, ensuring that the needs of individual patients are met. The post-holder will assist in the transition and discharge to aftercare placements in collaboration with community services.
About You
* We would expect all applicants to be Qualified Social Workers with current Social work England registration. Due to the vulnerability of the young people is an expectation that all applicants have working knowledge of safeguarding and a commitment to the welfare of children
* A comprehensive knowledge of the Children’s Act (1989)(2004) and The Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 are essential. Within this challenging but rewarding environment an awareness of Mental Health Act 1983 and 2007 would also be beneficial together with an understanding of childhood trauma and it’s implications on emotional and mental health.
* A diploma in Social Work will be required for this role along with current Social work England registration.
* We also require applicants to have a minimum of 12 months experience working with children and adolescents as a social worker
