Who we are looking for
We are seeking a highly motivated HCPC-registered Dietitian to join our well-established therapies team comprising Dietitians, Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Family Therapists and Systemic Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Creative Therapists, and Occupational Therapists. The Dietetic team at Huntercombe Hospital Maidenhead comprises a Lead Dietitian, one Band 6 Dietitian and one Dietetic Assistant.
The successful applicant will have a minimum qualification of BSc (Hons) Dietetics and be registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). They will ideally be working at Band 6 level although applications from Band 5 candidates with relevant experience will be considered. The post-holder will be expected to work at an appropriate level of autonomy alongside senior members of the team and be involved in day-to-day decision making on the wards. We are seeking to recruit a Dietitian who has demonstrable skills in engaging individuals and working in a person-centred way to support them in achieving their goals. The applicant will recognise the value of group and individual therapy in achieving these aims, as well as working with the wider MDT to ensure that a shared formulation is held within young people’s professional networks, both within and outside of the hospital. They will have a strong commitment to advocating for young people and families, ensuring that their needs and wishes remain at the centre of their care.
The successful applicant will be keen to apply their existing skills to working in a Tier 4 setting with young people and their families and will be interested in the application of evidence-based approaches to our population. They will value working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and will understand the importance of working alongside other professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people.
The successful applicant will be committed to improving the wellbeing of young people and families, as well as their colleagues.
