Riverview Recruitment are delighted to partner with Hedsor House to find their new exceptional and experienced Operations Manager to join their passionate team immediately.
The successful candidate will have a proven record of Hospitality Operations, high quality Facilities Management, Health and Safety, Project Management and Minor or Major building works. Experience of a wide range of events and an understanding of the events industry is not essential but may support your application.
The role, which reports to the Managing Director, has one direct report, but manages a plethora of suppliers and contractors to maintain and grow the high-quality facilities and hospitality offering. The successful candidate will develop and control the existing maintenance and capex budget of over £500,000 and deliver on the growth plans. It will be your responsibility to provide advice & support to the executive board at Hedsor on all aspects of maintaining the high standards of the house and grounds, the delivery of minor project works, health & safety, compliance, and contract management.
The role will require regular interaction with suppliers and external consultants and attending high level business meetings. It would be beneficial to have worked in estate / property management of a prestigious environment in either hospitality, a higher education institution, commercial events, or leisure sector.

About the Position
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager is a key part of our senior leadership team and is responsible for developing and executing a clearly defined maintenance and capex strategy for delivering a 5* venue to ensure a high level of sales and fantastic customer experience. There will be strong overlap with the Events team to support them to deliver high quality experiences. The Operations Manager will be responsible for planning, budgeting, executing of all maintenance, health and safety, minor and major works of the company.
You will…
1. Manage, support, and build our incredible team to execute against our vision and strategy.
2. Develop and execute a new maintenance and operations strategy to ensure a high Do you managelevel of quality and safety across the company and events.
3. Grow and develop the Estate by planning and executing projects identified by the MD, minor replacement works, refurbishments, upgrades, redevelopment of bedrooms or function rooms.
4. Manage, monitor, and coordinate all operations relating to the delivery of the high standards of the estate.
5. Ensure that all relevant FM, maintenance contracts are up to date and the SLAs are being adhered to.
6. Carry out regular Health & Safety and risk assessment inspections, audits and housekeeping tours, ensuring evaluation of findings recorded and consequent actions monitored and reviewed regularly.
7. Act as the lead project interface between the construction project manager, contractors, architects, consultants and the local authority during development, delivery, and post –completion stages of a project.
8. To manage Hedsor House directly appointed sub-contractors for cleaning services, security, grounds maintenance, laundry, hard FM services providers, electrical, air-conditioning, boilers, and plumbing.
9. Conduct procurement and contract management, including preparation of tender documents.
10. Manage the delivery of projects, minor works, and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure contractual, legal, health & safety, environmental, quality, cost and time compliance is carried out in line with Hedsor House objectives.
11. Be a part of the senior leadership team responsible for the overall Hedsor House Operations strategy.
You have…
1. At least 5 years of professional experience, with at least four in operations
2. At least 3 years of management experience of internal sales staff and external suppliers, ensuring that your team delivers on targets and strategies
3. Proven track record managing an estate with a customer-centric focus
4. Health & Safety Certification NEBOSH/IOSH
5. CDM Regulations 2015
6. Prince2 Practitioner
7. Strong financial acumen & understanding
8. A proven track record of demonstrated success creating and executing maintenance, operations, FM and H+S across hospitality or other operations.
9. A clear interest in and patience for training and developing members of your team
