Are you interested in a career in the field of mental health Dietetics? We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Registered Dietitian to join our team of Dietitians working within a specialist CAMHS setting.
What we do
The Huntercombe group is one of the country’s leading specialist healthcare providers with hospitals and centres throughout England and Scotland delivering wide-ranging services in adult mental health and learning disabilities, specialist brain injury, and child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) including services for those with eating disorders and social care for children with additional needs. Our aspiration is to nurture the world, one person at a time, and that’s why everything we do is designed to provide the best care and recovery for our patients and residents.
At Huntercombe Hospital Maidenhead we support young people who are experiencing significant mental health difficulties requiring inpatient admission. We have a total of 60 beds across four wards: two PICUs (Psychiatric Intensive Care Units), one GAU (General Adolescent Unit), and one Specialist Eating Disorder unit. We have recently been rated as “good” by CQC and “good” by Ofsted.
The PICUs (Thames and Severn) are secure units that provide psychiatric treatment to young people who are experiencing a mental health crisis and pose a high level of risk to themselves or others. Tamar is a 10-bedded GAU that supports young people with complex mental health issues and provides a safe environment to work through their difficulties. Kennet is a 20-bedded female-only facility that provides a treatment program for young people with eating disorders including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and other restrictive eating disorders such as Atypical Anorexia Nervosa and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID).
The vacant post involves working primarily with young people on Kennet ward, a specialist 20-bed eating disorders unit but also involves providing advice and guidance to multi-disciplinary teams across site. The role comprises a varied caseload including dietary restriction and associated compensatory behaviours, enteral feeding, diabetes, weight management, irritable bowel syndrome, allergies & intolerances, and eating disorders.
