Due to continued growth, we are recruiting a Financial Controller to join our team on a Part Time basis working 2 days per week at our head office in Chinnor.
What will I be responsible for?
Joining our team as a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing and producing the financial documentation and reports to support the Chief Executive Officer in the day-to-day management of the property development business. Duties include:
Receive, review, and record all invoices / statements.
Account reconciliation.
Run payroll and HMRC Submission.
Complete, submit and schedule CIS returns.
Complete and submit VAT returns.
Manage, raise, and issue Purchase orders.
Management of the company accountancy program and ensuring accurate and timely records of all expenditure and income are recorded.
Ensuring that Project expenditure is monitored against budgets and raising any potential risk / overspends to the CEO.
Assist the CEO / Project managers with monthly valuations as required and issuing payment notices to contractors.
Assist the wider team to Collate financial evaluation and agent valuations for development properties.Annual / Monthly Management reporting:
Production of monthly and quarterly management accounts for individual projects and the overall business performance.
Ensuring ground rents and service charges are claimed in a timely manner via the management company, along with checking annual service charge reconciliation.
Assist the team with Investment summary production and validation of costs and forecast incomes, comparing, and reporting against previous averages.
Production and submission of the Annual Accounts.

If you are a fully qualified accountant with experience within a property development company, this could be the ideal role for you. As our Financial Controller, you will also possess:
Ability to work collegially and collaboratively both internally and externally with a network of suppliers and professional consultants at various levels.
A large degree of accuracy and common sense.
A solid understanding of accountancy processes and legal requirements.
Advanced skills including word processing, telecommunications, and financial database software management.
Good judgment and decision-making skills.
Superior communication skills; written, verbal, individual and group.
Practice's self-evaluation, self-reflection, and growth.
What we can offer you:
As our Financial Controller, you will be offered a salary of between £45,000 – £55,000 pro rata, dependant on experience.
