Job Title: Financial Controller
Location London
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
* Analysis of business performance as well as indicators of business performance to support the recommendation of ongoing commercial improvements.
* Responsible for management of Fixed Asset Schedule.
* Preparation of monthly management accounts for the Board.
* Preparation for annual budgets, forecasts and business plans as required.
* Production of quarterly VAT Returns and acting as key contact for all HMRC related enquiries.
* Acting as lead contact with Bankers
* Acting as lead contact with Auditors
* Responsible for payroll production on a monthly basis
* Management AP and AR functions
* Treasury management and the production of cash forecasts
* Oversee all company accounts and investments
* Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecast
* Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
* Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants
* Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
* Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
* Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports
* Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
* Produce and examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
* Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
* Report to the Finance Director with timely and accurate financial information
* Assist the Finance Director in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
* Management of VAT, HMRC, SOX, IFRS 16 and Statutory compliance submissions
* Management of Bank Accounts and reconciliations
* Balance Sheet reconciliations
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education/Experience
– Bachelor's degree or master's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field; several years of experience in a business or finance environment; management experience; leadership skills; interpersonal skills; outstanding mathematical skills; honesty; integrity; reliability; solid written and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail; organisational skills; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; research skills; analytical skills; computer skills; understanding of data privacy standards.
Systems Experience
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Sage Accounts/Payroll, Oracle, SharePoint, Power BI
Experience
– Experience in a similar role is essential
