Financial Accountant
The key focus of this role is to support the Finance manager by assisting in the preparation of detailed financial and management information in an accurate and timely manner to facilitate effective decision-making. Ensuring the integrity of data and compliance with FRS102 regulatory reporting requirements.
For the right individual to take ownership and establish enhanced or streamlined practices through automation, there becomes an opportunity to develop further, or take on additional responsibilities or project work should there be such a desire.
Financial Accountant Responsibilities:
• Preparation and initial review of monthly reporting.
• Ownership of balance sheet and P&L lines, providing full detailed variance analysis and commentary on a monthly basis.
• Ensuring correct customer pricing issued in accordance with underlying price indices.
• Understanding and responding to queries arising in the business in a timely manner.
• Preparation and posting of journal entries.
• Control over miscellaneous invoicing and credit note workflows.
• Calculation and submission of VAT returns for UK and Ireland.
• Submission of ONS and Intrastat data.
• Chart of Accounts maintenance.
• Ownership of the month end timetable and process and supporting the Commercial team in Budgeting and Forecasting.
• Full testing of relevant sections of new ERP system before implementation.
Financial Accountant Requirements:
Essential:
• Ability to produce quality work under pressure and to deadlines, with an attention to detail.
• Part qualified or QBE.
• Strong MS Excel capability.
• Ability to communicate and build effective working relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
• Flexible and creative approach to problem solving and decision making.
• Ability to learn and work as an effective team member.
• Experience of using and an understanding of an ERP system.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Experience business partnering operational (non-finance) colleagues.
Desirable:
• Team management / development experience.
• Advanced MS Office skills.
• Experience of JDE.
• Experience of Microsoft Dynamics / Business central.
• Experience migrating an ERP system.
Seeking an all round well exposed confident individual with strong systems skill, and strong inter-personal relationship skills not afraid to involve themselves in any / every aspect of the business.

The successful candidate would ideally furnish their CV with a range of finance experience covering traditional monthly P&L and balance sheet accounting, and system data management.
