Assistant Accountant (Part qualified)

Salary up to £32,500 depending on experience.

Welcome Break currently have two positions available within our Finance Team at our Head Office in Newport Pagnell. We are ideally looking for a part qualified accountant who has experience working as an Assistant Finance Manager or Assistant Accountant previously, with some previous experience of working within or overseeing a credit control function.
We are in a period of finance transformation and this a fantastic opportunity to join us on this journey.
Responsibilities / Key Tasks for Assistant Accountant/ Assistant Finance Manager
* Managing the debtor ledgers
* Completion of supplier reconciliations, treasury management, etc
* Maintaining supplier details and sales and contract invoicing
* Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
* Schedule and manage month-end/year-end processes relevant to Accounts Receivable.
* Managing two part time Sales Ledger reconciliation clerks
* To look after assigned aged debtor reports and relevant reconciliations at each period end, recommending line of investigation / resolution to clear down debtor balances and solve reconciliation discrepancies.
* To provide monthly reports as required to senior management.
* Communication and enforcement of financial procedures relevant to the accounts receivable department, including VAT reporting.
* To liaise with sites / departments / third parties to resolve any problems.
* To maintain relationships with key customers and relevant teams within the organisation through regular meeting / conference calls.
* Investigation of discrepancies in payments received to eliminate potential bad debts / chargebacks.
Qualifications, knowledge and experience for Assistant Accountant/ Assistant Finance Manager
* ACCA / CIMA part-qualified accountant (minimum requirement)
* Previous experience managing a small team.
* Experience in monthly financial reporting
* Sales Ledger / Credit Control experience
* Good working knowledge of MS Excel
* Good communication skills at all levels
