Mobile Services Principle Engineer
Hybrid Role – 2 days home, 3 days in the office with potential to extend once established in the position.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you, a highly experienced Mobile Services Engineer with skills including MS SQL and Diameter, to join a leading MVNE (mobile virtual network enabler), providing support, large scale software upgrades, troubleshooting, planning, and project work. You will represent the MVNE in all dealings with the MSPO.
Key Responsibilities
Provide knowledgeable and accurate application support in the configuration and usage of products. Provide appropriate observations and recommendations to Product Management and Support Management.
Take personal ownership of designated customer base, acting as the lead engineer from commissioning through to day-to-day management of cases to ensure contractual SLAs are met. Act as the technical lead for customer service reviews.
Participate in triage of support Cases and provide direction and guidance to all Support engineers and provide appropriate escalations and updates to Management.
Ensure that root cause failure of systems or processes are documented, relevant systems are updated with pertinent information, and provide technical annotation of works completed in the servicing of cases for use by Management and other engineers.
Plan the detail of deployments and upgrades for designated platforms and their execution.
Participate in managing Customer expectations; regularly communicating current situation status, analysing impact, devising workarounds, communicating next step plans – ensuring an excellent customer service experience.
Act as liaison between Services Infrastructure team and other support engineers, providing additional on-call coverage when required.
Ensure compliance with all published procedures, policies and practices to ensure the timely completion of operational services and business or financial reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
¡ Strong IT and engineering skills, preferably with at least 5 years' experience in the Telecoms Sector and understanding of:
Voice switching (VoIP/ Mobile)
Mobile Telephony architectures
Signalling and management protocols -SIP, Diameter, SS7
Database administration – MS SQL
Advanced knowledge of Data networks
Advanced knowledge of Firewalls and IT security
Of these technical skills, MS SQL and Diameter are the most important.
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken – particularly a good telephone manner). Ability to convey technical detail at the right level for intended audience.
