Brief
Fibre Manager needed for a well-known full fibre broadband provider based in and around the Buckinghamshire area who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Fibre Manager that takes pride in their work with previous experience of working closely with project teams, to ensure that technical requirements are understood and met.
The successful candidate would desirably hold a valid NRSWA qualification and have a keen interest in Fibre Management. You will also be responsible in mentoring and developing Complex Install Engineers and will establish and grow a directly employed complex installation capability – therefore previous management experience is essential.

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Fibre Manager will include:
· Responsible for the installation of ad hoc network extensions and the last mile cabling for complex installations Using a combination of the BT PIA network.
· Working closely with project teams, to ensure that technical requirements are understood and met
· The Fibre Manager will mentor and develop our Complex Install Engineers and will establish and grow a directly employed complex installation capability
· Ensures that all Fibre work undertaken by the team are captured within the GIS and network design databases
· Management of fibre testing and assuring the quality of all works
· Managing multiple Engineers working across various regions
· Participates in team meetings and provides regular on-site presence
· Proposing solutions to complex problems that occur in the field
· Retains hands on fibre splicing and problem solving.
What experience you need to be the successful Fibre Manager:
· Valid NRSWA Supervisor qualification or if your qualification has lapsed, we will put you through the training
· Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations
· OTDR Experience – Viavi, EXFO, CMA NETTEST, ANRITSU, NOYES or similar
· Working knowledge of Straight-Line Diagrams and Fibre Allocation Sheets
· Experienced with the use of Fusion splicing – Fujikura 60s, 70s or similar.
· Working experience of GPON or XGSPON networks
· Ability to create H&S documentation, progress reports and tracking documentation
· Strong Understanding of Fibre networks to facilitate in Fibre fault finding and repair.
· Regular communication with Complex installs Project Manager
· Technical Training and coaching
