Fibre and Cabling Manager

Our Role

As a Fibre and Cabling Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end to end process for all Cabling and Fibre installation, including O/H works and testing. You will work with your team, the Civils Project Manager and the Programme Manager to meet, and exceed, the needs of the client. You will provide technical expertise and experience; working within a team to deliver a first-class service to our customers, within budget and on time.

You will be competent on working in Telecoms; being able to engineer solutions on site and focus your teams on completing work right first time.

As cgu Plus increase their footprint within the Telecoms sector, the role will expand to include additional management responsibility for further cities.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for someone to take ownership of overall process – think ahead, determine and implement efficient methods of working in the project design and planning application, Surveying/Pre-siting activities, all route proving – rodding & roping, all blockage and stoppage clearance sub-ducting and cable pulling activities, blown fibre, splicing, testing and commissioning alongside pole erection and aerial activities including testing

We are looking for someone to ensure that all the client and operational requirements are met in a professional and efficient manner

We are looking for someone to be responsible for Network Plus contract P&L ensuring all work is completed right first time and to budget

We are looking for someone to be responsible for keeping the programme manager up to date and informed on any delays or any work that is ahead of programme

We are looking for someone to oversee Health & Safety incident and damage reports; carrying out any investigations and disciplinaries in relation to any poor behaviours

We are looking for someone to provide daily and weekly reports as required and to ensure that all service levels and KPI objectives are achieved

We are looking for someone to ensure that all Operatives have the correct training and PIA competencies to work on the network

We are looking for someone to provide a positive and innovative input into the team, through provision of solutions to problems and embracing change; helping them reach their potential

We are looking for someone to manage sub-contractors as and when they are employed on the contract
