We are recruiting on behalf of our client who are market leaders in the design and manufacture of high performance optical fiber networks.
The Role:
Within the Purchasing team, the post holder will be responsible for all Purchasing activities associated with a list of Key Customers. They will oversee the purchasing of products from internal and external suppliers globally based and be involved in Customers Programme Management meetings to assess – as part of a team – the Customers’ needs in terms of products, timeline for delivery. They will also (after adequate training) be able to investigate alternative products / solutions to satisfy the Customers’ needs. They will be responsible for the allocation of business to internal and external Customers, always minimising the lead time to the Customers.
We are looking for an energised, driven individual that will be an asset working as part of a team. Team working is essential to this role in order to support the internal and external Customers as well as support other members of the Purchasing Team.
The post holder will also work very closely to the Expeditor as the Expeditor is responsible for the logistics element of all orders raised by the Supply Chain Specialist.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain or Procurement dealing with Key Customers
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in dealing with suppliers located globally including Far East, USA, Europe
* Understanding of Inco terms
* Understanding of Shipping Logistics – Air and Sea
