Birchwood is a vibrant and welcoming 14-bed residential care home in Chesham with three purpose-built, spacious bungalows, supporting adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities. The service provides a safe and stimulating environment for all the individuals we support.

Each bungalow has a communal lounge and kitchen. Each individual has their own bedroom with en-suite bathroom and overhead hoist and tracking. There is also an independent flat consisting of its own lounge, kitchen bedroom and en-suite bathroom. There is a small garden area accessible to every person we support from their bedroom, as well as communal gardens around the site.

Birchwood is located close to the town centre with the shops just ten minutes away. There are also pubs and coffee shops just around the corner.

Key Requirements:

* Be able to demonstrate a warm, person centred and affirmative approach to people with learning disabilities.

* Administer medication in line with our procedures

* Demonstrate written communication skills, sufficient to contribute to a record keeping system

* Help people using our services with activities of daily living such as bathing and using the toilet

* Plan and participate in activities on and off site

* Team Lead and delegate appropriately when on shifts and take the role of management in the absence of the Registered Manager or Deputy Manager

* Complete regular staff supervision

* Key work and be involved in liaising with social workers and other agencies

* Compile reports and complete weekly and monthly reviews

* Providing On-Call in case of an emergency
