Supported Living Manager/Service Manager

A great opportunity has arisen for a Supported Living/Service Manager to lead and manage a supported living service based in High Wycombe. The service supports teenagers and  young adults with mental health challenges or diagnosis and/or learning disabilities.  Many service users have complex needs and challenging beahaviours. The service benefits from good multi -agency partnership links and is owned by a social care provider with an excellent reputation in the provision of social care.

Our ideal Supported Living Manager/Service Manager  will have experience in a similar role and a good understanding of meeting and supporting the needs of young adults with mental health challenges and learning needs. The focus of the service is on enablement and inclusion. Helping the service users with personal organisation and self-esteem and encouraging them to undertake training and prepare for future study, training and  employment.  You will report in and be supported by the Registered Manager and will also have the support of your Team Leader and a dedicated support worker team.

The successful Supported Living Manager  will need to demonstrate competence in the following areas.

Previous experience as a  Supported Living Manager, Home Manager, Service Manager, Registered Manager  Scheme Manager or  Housing Manager
Proven motivational Leadership and Management skills
Comprehensive experience and understanding of mental health and learning disabilties 
Previous Supported Living experience
Experience of customers with complex needs, including dual diagnosis
Stakeholder engagement skills  and organisational skills
Working well with the families of the people you support
Recruitment of proficient staff
Care, compassion, and reflective practice
Confident at managing challenging behaviour
Sensitive and assertive style of communication
Understanding of relevant industry legislation including DOLS and Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Health and Safety etc
Hold a minimum of NVQ Level 4
