Support worker required for Children's Homes in Bedford and Milton Keynes
The Residential Care Homes cater for up to 4 children of either gender aged 10 – 15 years. They will have experienced a difficult childhood involving some form of trauma and who are not currently able to remain living with their families. Some will display complex behaviours that can make it difficult for them to be cared for within a family setting. Some will suffer with a range of attachment disorders or conditions such as ADHD and have learning difficulties
The homes ethos is 'To provide a safe and nurturing home for children where they can receive specialist care and therapy, allowing them the opportunity to reach their potential and thrive’.
Support Worker hourly rate is £9.20, with a sleep-in rate of £44.00.
There is a rota system; shifts begin at 06:30, and finish at 22:30. Part time hours fall within these times and are agreed only with the Manager at interview stage. You will be required to sleep in at the home and work some weekends each month.
This Organisation will train you after probation and will enrol you for NVQ 3.

A Support Worker
You will provide the primary therapeutic care for a group of children/young people who all have damaging life experiences.
To participate as a team member in providing a consistent approach towards the care of the children/young people.
To have specific responsibility for the monitoring of the care plan for at least one child/young person and being a Key Worker.
To attend Supervision sessions and to contribute in an open and honest manner to these meetings.
To attend weekly team meetings and mandatory training / CWDC as required.
To enrol and complete your NVQ 3 after successful completion of your probationary period.
To accurately record and monitor details of individual children/young people.
To complete administrative tasks in a timely manner and efficient manner.
To inform senior staff of any health and safety/safeguarding concerns rising within the building or for a child.
To work as a team and prepare the house each day, this will include cleaning, cooking and organising the home.
