A fantastic opportunity for a Senior Residential Support Worker to lead a team of Residential Support Workers in a new children’s home in Milton Keynes. You will be joining an organisation which is commited in it's support for staff member's career progression. There will be a genuine opportunity to progress to Deputy Manager and be enrolled to study for a Diploma Level 5 Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare.
Your main duties and responsibilities as a Senior Residential Support Worker will be:
* Shift leading and time management
* Attending senior meetings and contributing to the continual development of the home and company
* Working with young people on a 1:1 and 2:1 staff ratio and maintaining positive working relationships
* Attending multi agency meetings
* Completing home visits and risk assessments
* Updating and contributing to care plans and adapting to any changes that arise
* Completing regular supervisions with Support Workers, offering professional support and completing any actions
* Key working and providing support for key child in all areas of development
* Taking responsibility when dealing with petty cash and updating records accordingly
* Assisting the Home Manager and Deputy Manager with administrative tasks, household management and team recruitment
* Taking overall responsibility for the home in the absence of the Home Manager and/or Deputy Manager
The successful Senior Residential Support Worker will have the following experience and qualifications:
* A minimum of one year's recent experience of working as a Senior Residential Support Worker leading shifts in a residential service for looked after children aged 16 and under
* A Diploma Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare / NVQ3 Working with Children and Young People in Social Care / NVQ3 Children and Adults Health and Social Care
* Driving licence
* Able to work long day shifts and sleep ins
