A fantastic opportunity to join a stable staff team in a residential children’s home as a Senior Residential Support Worker.
The home is run by an excellent and supportive Home Manager and Deputy Manager, both of which have extensive experience within children’s residential care. They will provide you with support for your career progression and a warm welcome upon joining this organisation.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced children's support worker to develop and progress in a Senior Residential Support Worker position.
You will learn new skills in:
Providing formal and informal supervision.
Budget and finance management.
Constructing and implementing care plans.
Liaising with Ofsted and assisting with Ofsted inspections.
Your main duties and responsibilities as a Senior Residential Support Worker will be:
Guiding and developing the Residential Support Workers.
Being an advocate for the children living in the home with the support of the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager.
Being resilient and solution focused, motivating, to be understanding and insightful of the children and be part of their successful outcomes.
Bringing a high degree of energy and an optimistic attitude to ensure a culture of ‘proactive’ day to day care practice in the home is always maintained.
Shift leading, key working and organising rotas.
To ensure that all young people are safeguarded and correct procedure and protocol is followed when doing so such as missing protocols and OFSTED notifications.
Accurate report writing and documentation on a daily basis as well as risk management and positive handling plans.
Organise and take young people out on activities as well as ensuring all health and medical appointments are up to date.
Writing and reviewing individual care plans according to each child's needs.
Taking overall responsibility for the home in the absence of the Home Manager and/or Deputy Manager
This is a full-time position which involves working 3 long days and two sleep ins per week.
Essential candidate requirements:
A minimum of two year's recent experience of working in a residential service for looked after children aged 16 and under
A Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare / NVQ3 Working with Children and Young People in Social Care / NVQ3 Children and Adults Health and Social Care
Driving licence
Able to work long day shifts and sleep ins
