This is an exciting role which will see you be part of a new team, establishing and opening a new home for a therapeutic children's residential care provider.
The home will be a long-term place to live for vulnerable young people who can no longer live with their families due to complex backgrounds such as neglect, abuse, domestic violence and drug and alcohol abuse.
As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will
Work with young people with social, emotional, behavioural difficulties to support their needs and regain their confidence
Key work
Follow individual care plans according to each child's needs
Organise and take part in activities with the children
Your most significant contribution is that of a professional parent, nurturing and caring for the looked after children
You will take a child-centred approach in providing high quality care that will enable each young person to grow and develop healthily.
You will implement and maintain clear and consistent boundaries necessary for the creation of a safe and secure environment necessary for each young person to flourish.
Deal with challenging behaviour, promoting positive behaviour and skills for independence.
Applicants are required to have experience of working with children with social emotional behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviour and have a genuine desire to forge a career in children's residential care.
The role involves working long day shifts and one to two sleep ins per week which includes weekend days and bank holiday days on a rota basis.
You will be provided with a thorough induction and ongoing training which will include funding and support to attain a Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare if not already qualified
