A children’s residential service which prides itself on providing warm, caring, family style homes for looked after children with emotional, learning, social and behavioural difficulties and mental health issues due to trauma, is currently looking for a Registered Manager.
As a Registered Children’s Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day to day running of the Home in line with the organisation's policies and procedures, Ofsted requirements and Local Authorities’ expectations. You will also be expected to take on call responsibilities for residential services when required as per the rolling rota.
You will be leading an established and reliable team of Residential Support Workers and Deputy Manager. The service is supported by an excellent team of therapists and an education team.
As a Registered Children's Home Manager your duties and responsibilities within this role will be:
To be the ‘Registered Manager’ for the home as specified in the Children’s Homes Regulations and required to fulfil the obligations set out in the Quality Standards for Children’s Homes.
To be responsible for medium to long term planned placements as well as for emergency placements, to ensure young people are supported and prepared to move on to independent living.
To ensure that high levels of emotional and physical care, appropriate activities, comfortable accommodation and the service of keyworkers are planned.
To deliver therapeutic packages which include physical activities such as cycling, going to the gym, running or football; an expressive art activity; a music activity; a meal out; leisure activities such as cinema or bowling and educational activities such as cooking classes delivered by staff.
To ensure that goals to improve are identified during key-working sessions and that the whole team are aware of the young person’s goals in order to support progress.
To encourage education as well as therapeutic support at all times.
Ensure that effective finance budgets, control, administration and records comply with expectations and procedures.
You will be joining and managing an existing, very experienced and settled staff team. You will also be supported by a very knowledgeable and accessible senior management team.

Salary – £34,000 to £37,500 plus £3,000 bonus and salary increments according to ratings and your professional performance .
Candidate requirements:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare / Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services.
Full, driving licence
A minimum of two years' experience of working as either a Deputy Manager or Home Manager within a residential home for children aged under 16
Experience of budget management
Motivation, flexibility and sense of responsibility
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and IT literacy
