Talent Nurtured is presently looking for an Registered Manager to join an amazing forward thinking organisation.
The Children’s home is located in Northampton.
The organisation specialises in EBD and currently works with some of the most vulnerable children in the country. The organisation has access to it’s very own CAHMS as well as other specialist support to enable a more therapeutic environment.
Main duties:
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure that every young person is treated fairly and as an individual entitled to respect and dignity.
To ensure that the quality of care is of a high standard and the required ‘Safeguarding’ measures are in place and acted on.
To maintain a high standard of personal presentation promoting a professional organisation image
To be responsible for delivering ‘integrated therapeutic care’
To accurately define the service
To emphasise responsibilities in working together with, and communicating effectively with the other professionals in the team (e.g. therapists)
To plan and deliver each young person’s care, and in ensuring their teams do the same.
To be responsible for the daily care of the young people to include:
Ensuring the daily routine and programme for the young person is carried out consistently by all team members
Ensuring that the care of all young people is clearly planned and reviewed to meet deadlines and all statutory responsibilities.
To produce review reports as required
To ensure that all recorded information in the young person’s home conforms to the statutory requirements and is of a high standard.
To effectively manage, develop and motivate all members of the team to include:
Organising and documenting team meetings
Holding and documenting supervisions as per National Minimum Standards, regular feedback as well as annual appraisals
Identifying appropriate training
Responsible for employee planning and ensuring optimum levels of staffing for short, medium and long term plans
To effectively manage resources to include:
The budget and all associated paperwork
Recruitment and training of the Residential Care Workers
Rotas – timesheets, allocation of training, leave and all requests for time off
Sick absence
Induction
Maintain the external and internal fabric of the building to a high standard
To produce COSHH, Risk Assessments and Health & Safety processes on the home
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Level 5 Health and Social Care – Leadership & Management (or equivalent)
Excellent knowledge and understanding of application of National Minimum Standard, childcare practices and behaviour management strategies
At least 2 years line management and supervisory experience
3 – 5 years’ experience of working in residential child care environment
Evidence of gaining a minimum Good Ofsted report for a home
Full manual driving licence
Must be able to work as part of the management team
Must be committed to making a difference to the lives of the young people in your care
Excellent planning & organising skills
Willingness to take on responsibilities and develop initiatives
Proactively keep abreast of childcare developments and legislation
Excellent communication skills
Must have a positive disposition and lead by example.
Able to produce, update and monitor plans (and reports) and consistently deliver to deadlines
Self-starter who demonstrates a high level of motivation and commitment
A professional qualification in a related childcare field is desirable
A1 Assessor is desirable
