Rocasa Consulting is recruiting for a Night Support Worker based in High Wycombe for a 6-month contract on a 4on4off pattern.

The role is based in a single homeless hostel in High Wycombe, that provides accommodation and support for single homeless men or women, at serious risk of becoming homeless and are aged 18 to 65. The service provides residents with their own bedroom with shared communal kitchens and bathrooms; female-only units and disabled facilities, IT suite, garden, on-site library, therapy suite and homeopathy clinic, community lounge, dedicated Support Worker, and group sessions with individual support plans.

Key Experience;

* Experience working in Mental Health or Homeless supported living services

* Experience of working nights

* Enhanced DBS check

Responsibilities

* Ensuring that the hostel is kept clean and safe and taking appropriate action to maintain the condition of the building, reporting hostel repairs.

* Carrying out regular checks in the hostel, checking conditions of all communal areas.

* Ensuring the hostel is secure by regular patrols and monitoring external doors and access in and out of the building

* Carrying out resident room/flat checks as necessary.

* Spending time talking to the residents;

* Dealing with any disputes or emergencies and completing incident reports.

* Having an understanding of the needs of the client group and working in an understanding and flexible manner using assessment and evaluation skills.

* Update paper and computerised systems and ensure all occurrences throughout the night are recorded

* Maintain a friendly and supportive environment within the hostel.

* Diffuse difficult or dangerous situations and summon assistance when necessary. Training will be provided.

* Ability to lone work
