Are you a newly qualified OT or in your final year of University, looking for the opportunity to provide specialist direct and indirect therapy for pupils and young adults with Autism? My client is looking for experienced Band 5 OTs looking to make a difference.
My client is a fantastic school for 4 – 19 year olds primarily with Autism. They are looking for final year students or newly qualified OTs who have experience prior to University working in schools, and are looking to take this up again post education. Role:
• 1 to 1 interaction with pupils
• Planning and running of therapy groups
• Work alongside teachers and implement therapy interventions
• Working with students with Autism, or social/emotional mental health needs
• Support and develop pupils' daily living and life skills
• Encourage pupils to develop self-help skills and promote independence and wellbeing
• Make recommendations and adaptions to the pupil's space to encourage a positive learning environment
Requirements:
• Occupational Therapy degree (you can be in your final year looking for an opportunity, come the end of your course)
• Experience within schools during placement
• Knowledge of special educational needs and the Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Willingness and eager to learn
