About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced IT Technical Officer to join our team.
You will be joining a busy IT team and helping to support the Trust’s established technologies ensuring the smooth running of our networks and servers with minimum downtime., whilst researching, evaluating and implementing new technical solutions as appropriate.
On the Job you will:
Ensure that the Phone hardware and infrastructure, Computers, Servers, Network Infrastructure and all other ICT provided systems and hardware are all functioning efficiently and that relevant security and virus systems are up to date and tested.
To be the IT Help Desks first point of call on all technical issues/problems that may occur and to perform initial diagnostics on problems and, where possible, solve them. If unable to solve problems escalate to IT Infrastructure Manager and if required report them to our external IT Partner(s) as appropriate and to take ownership of the issue until resolved.
Assist in the implementation of new technical solutions (both hardware and software), this could involve taking a Project Manager role during some implementations.
Ensure that the highest levels of customer care are practiced including dealing with complaints and service failure issues and to undertake reviews of the services provided.
Assist in the management of all servers, (both physical and virtual) ensuring we are maximising our resources, undertaking necessary housekeeping of servers and software as required, this is to include upgrades.
To assist in the back ups of all systems and working with the IT Infrastructure Manager to ensure that the Disaster Recovery Plan is tested yearly
Where required develop and deliver training programs for core Business Systems and hardware. This includes designing course materials and other documents such as handouts, manuals and exercises to support user training
Deputise for the IT Infrastructure Manager when required.
About You
We’re looking for someone who understands how to connect with people and has a good technical background with ability to explain complex solutions to non-technical people.

You will ideally have skills and attributes that include:
good communication,
you enjoy a taking on complex and technical challenges
proven experience in technical diagnosis and troubleshooting
A patient and methodical approach to work aligned with the ability to manage and implement change.
Takes personal responsibility
Proven experience of rolling out Office and Exchange 365.
The minimum qualifications required are proven technical support experience, including supporting and administrating Office and Exchange 365 and Vmware.
