Home Care Worker
Home Care Workers with a full UK driving licence and access to a motor vehicle are required by a well-established care provider looking after Service Users in their homes in the South Bucks area.
They aim to make a difference by supporting their service users to live in their homes and achieve their optimum levels of independence, health and well-being.
The Management has more than 50+ years’ experience in the care sector and are committed to make a real difference in the lives of their Service Users and their families.
Responsibilities:
To provide a care and support to Service Users to enable them to lead as an independent lifestyle as possible in their own homes. This care service will involve a programme of personal care, support needs and management which will be stated clearly in each Service Users Care Plan.
Care duties will therefore include assisting Service Users with the following tasks and activities:
At all times observe and respect the Service Users – Dignity, Privacy, Wishes, Individuality and Independence as far is practical.
Personal Care:
Dressing and Undressing
Washing / Bathing / Showering
Hair Care
Oral Care
Grooming
Toileting including personal hygiene
Continence Management
Care and awareness of pressure sores
Getting in and out of bed
Assisting with the use of aids for daily living
Day / Evening and Night Sitting Services when required
Aids:
Check all mobility and assistance aids are in good working order before and after use, contacting the Assistant Manager with any concerns or problems.
Make sure all mobility aids are left on charge to avoid flat batteries.
Make sure all aids are kept in a safe place without causing a risk to Service Users safety.
Medication:
Assist, support, administration of prescribed medication in line with the organisation’s policy and guidelines and each individual support plan.
Level 1 – verbal assist (prompt).
Level 2 – assisting (opening packaging as the request of the service user).
Level 3 – fully administer (opening packaging, giving to the service user, and documenting on task list).
Only administer medication that is prescribed by a GP and dispensed by the pharmacy.
Report any new medication to the medication auditor.
Always adhere to Eden Care at Home Limited medication policies and procedures.
Attend medication training on an annual basis compliant with mandatory training requirements.
Report any issues or concerns relating to medication to the Medication-Quality Auditor and Trainer and your line manager.
Dietary Care:
Preparation of snacks and meals according to Services Users likes and dislikes
Assist with feeding and drinking if needed
Household Support:
Shopping and preparation of shopping lists
Washing, drying and putting away of used dishes
General light cleaning duties – dusting, polishing and vacuuming
Bed Making and Changing
Management of refuse and rubbish
Laundry and Ironing
General cleanliness of the household and tidying up when you have completed a task or activity.
Support Services:
Accompany to appointments – Dentist / Hospital / Doctors / Hair / etc.
Other:
Ensure general safety of household and Service User before leaving.
Making sure all objects are in a suitable and normal place for the service user.
Record in care plan at the end of each visit stating the tasks that were achieved.
Work weekends and bank holidays as normal working days.
Report to Assistant Manager, immediately, to voice any concerns or changes to Service Users care or health.
Wear uniform, ID Badge and Name Badge at all times.
Collect COVID test kits, new gloves, masks, aprons, shoe covers and other personal protective equipment from office as and when you require it.
Develop effective working relationships with other employees with Eden Care at Home Limited.
Be a team player.
Participate in the developing of the business.
Maintain high standards of work and self image.
Conform to all Policies and Procedures set by Eden Care at Home Limited.
Participate as directed by Eden Care at Home for all Training.
Participate in Staff and Team meetings, review meetings as directed by Eden Care at Home Limited.
Maintain accurate and timely records of daily electronic logs of care visits on One Touch Health data management App.
COVID-Related Duties:
Adhere to COVID regulations in line with Government and the company’s Policies and Procedures.
Ensure reasonable steps are followed to protect staff and others from coronavirus (COVID-19 and variants).
Identify and inform managers what work activity or situations might cause transmission of the virus.
Adhere to the Company’s policies and procedures relating to the use of Personal Protective Equipment

Vacancy Information:

Salary Range: Shift pay at £10 per hour Monday to Friday, £11 per hour at weekends and £20 per hour on public holidays.
