Huntercombe Hospital Maidenhead is a Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) hospital located in Taplow, within 1/2 mile of junction 7 of the M4, two miles from Maidenhead and six miles from Windsor. The hospital is set in a 13th century manor house with extensive gardens where we look after children and young people aged 12 to 18 years with mental health needs.
Head of Quality – Huntercombe Hospital Maidenhead
Full Time / 6 Months Fixed Term Contract (initially)
Salary: up to £60, 000 pa
This role is integral to ensuring that the hospital is and remains compliant with all national regulatory and local care requirements and standards (including those set by Care Quality Commission (CQC) NHSI (Monitor) and NHS England) and to effectively manage the governance and develop a strong positive culture, an ethos of service and climate which fosters effective multi-disciplinary working.
Working as part of the multi-disciplinary leadership team, the Head of Quality will develop and deliver a service of the highest quality to patients and their families as well as lead and continually improve quality across the hospital, ensuring it is embedded as day-to-day responsibility of all members of staff.
This position requires extensive experience within a complex and multi-disciplinary healthcare setting (knowledge of CAMHS would be advantageous but not necessary). You will need to have an excellent working knowledge of national care requirements and standards as set out by CQC, NHS England and NHSI among others and be able to demonstrate previous success in a similar role.
You will need to be a confident self-starter with excellent communication and leadership skills, have the ability to work at pace to meet tight deadlines, offer flexibility and commitment to move the service forward and ensure that there is a strong emphasis on quality and governance across all teams.
This will be a busy and challenging role as our recent CQC reports will demonstrate, however we have a robust action plan in place and remain firmly committed to moving the service out of ‘special measures’ and as such this will present an exciting opportunity to someone with the skills and tenacity to make a difference.
The role is initially a 6 month contract due to senior management changes underway and a new Hospital Director recently being appointed, and there will be an opportunity for the right person to become a permanent member of the team.
In addition to the competitive salary, we offer the following benefits:
* Generous annual leave entitlement
* Sick pay of 4 weeks full pay and 4 weeks half pay
* The opportunity to participate in a company contributory pension scheme with up to 3% matching contributions
* Maternity leave at 3 month’s full pay and 3 month’s half pay, (up to a maximum salary of £50k)
* 2 weeks paid paternity leave
* Shared parental leave, matching the maternity leave benefit
* Death in service benefit equivalent to 2 x salary
* A range of staff discounts
* Opportunities for training and development
* Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
We welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnic origin, gender, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, marital status, disability or social background. This is a great opportunity for someone to make a difference.
