Seven Social Care is looking for a qualified Adult Safeguarding Team Manager to fill an exclusive opportunity working as part of Milton Keynes Council.
The role:
Through effective leadership, guidance and partnership working ensure safeguarding adults performance, practice and quality continually develops and improves in Milton Keynes. Have operational responsibility for all safeguarding adults alerts received by MKC. Manage the workload of the Safeguarding Adults Team and safeguarding interventions across adults social care by supervising the team and ensuring the work is effectively allocated monitored and conforms to the required performance standards To support the MK Multi-agency Safeguarding Adults Board (MK SAB) achieve it's strategic aims. Monitor compliance with Milton Keynes Inter-agency Policy & Procedures for Safeguarding Adults. Promote good practice and raise awareness in recognising and responding to the abuse of adults across Milton Keynes.
Key Responsibilities:
Professional Advisor to the MK Safeguarding Adults Board, responsibility for sub-group delivery, preparing and updating the Business Plan, oversee the operation of the Serious Case Review Protocol, prepare the Annual Report of the Safeguarding Board and ensure that other agencies and individuals are fully involved in the work of the Safeguarding Board.
Build and maintain strong and effective links with Lead Officers in other statutory agencies, including the Police, Health commissioners and providers, Probation and the third and independent sector and ensure that each agency (including the council) has a set of internal guidelines, which are consistent with the local multi-agency Safeguarding Adults policy and procedures.
Ensure that legislation, regulations and codes of practice are adhered to across the city, update and review the Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures to incorporate lessons learned from practice and to include the most recent relevant legislation and guidance, and ensure that all partner agencies are signed up at Senior/Board level through the Safeguarding Adults Board.
The response to safeguarding adults in Milton Keynes is directed by the development of knowledge, skills and expertise ensuring that local practice meets national guidance and legislative requirements.
Quarterly activity reports and the Safeguarding Adults Board Annual Report are produced to inform Regulators, partner agencies, and the citizens of Milton Keynes about Safeguarding Adults activity, trends and developments.
Ensure that all Adult Social Care staff have a robust understanding of their roles and responsibilities around safeguarding and how their practice or activity may impact on outcomes for individuals and the council.
Ensure that accurate and reliable information related to all aspects of adult safeguarding is collected and available to senior management and the Safeguarding Adults Board. Ensure effective systems for collecting and analysing data on Safeguarding Adults are in place, including arrangements to monitor the outcomes for all referrals, including collecting citizen/carer/professional views and contribute to overall performance indicators.
Adult safeguarding practice is monitored and issues across Adult Social Care and partner agencies are identified and areas for improvement and development are highlighted by the post holder and reported to the Safeguarding Adults Board. To maintain accurate and up to date knowledge of changes and new initiatives in law and national guidance in respect of safeguarding work and advise the Safeguarding Adults Board on implications for local policies and procedures to inform the strategy and direction of adult safeguarding interventions.
Ensure and oversee a multi-agency workforce learning and development strategy, working with the Council's workforce development team. Contribute to local and regional / national multi-agency workforce learning and development.
Periodic quality monitoring and auditing of safeguarding adult investigations is undertaken to ensure that investigations have been completed within the timescales and in accordance with policies and procedures.
Applicant Requirements:
Qualifications: Social Work Degree approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Experience: Experience working with Adults as a QSW, and experience as a Manager.
Compliance: Up to date HCPC registration and DBS.
Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
