This brand-new Technical Sales Manager position is based out of our Wafer Technology substrate manufacturing facility. Wafer Technology is an industry leading manufacturer of GaAs, InP, InSb, GaSb and InAs substrates.
The successful Sales Manager will be responsible for Wafer Technology product sales and business development across a wide range of material types, product forms and sales territories. As part of the management team, you will lead a small sales team as well as developing sales and marketing strategies to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities of the Technical Sales Manager:
Responsible for delivering order book to enable annual budget to be met
Work closely with production team to ensure technical requirements of customers are met in full
Develop and implement business development strategies which deliver revenue growth
Authoring business plan content to support annual budgeting and 3-year business plan reviews
Prepare and give technical presentations to customers and conference events
Represent Wafer Technology at domestic and international conference and trade show events
Meet regularly with existing and potential customers (domestic and international)
Manage sales agents responsible for foreign territories
Represent Wafer Technology during IQE Group events
Manage and mentor the Technical Sales Engineer
Supporting the day to day running of the company
Support the successful implementation of company policies
Contribute to the development of company strategic plans
Management team member responsible for all aspects of company’s commercial activity
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven track record in a technical sales or business development role
Must have a working knowledge of compound semiconductor materials and their applications
5-10 years of commercial experience in a customer facing technical role
Degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline with a knowledge of semiconductor materials
Experience of managing/leading a team
Strong communication, written and presentation skills
Confident working within different geographical territories and work place cultures
Strong numeric, process reasoning and planning skills
Strong commercial awareness with ability to build and sustain customer relationship
