You have the opportunity to join a Global Metals Distribution business as Sales Manager. You will have opportunity to work in either West Midlands, Buckinghamshire or North West with a hybrid working policy.
Summary
Reporting to the Head of Dept, the Sales Manager will hold accountability for the development and execution of sales activities within their team to meet group targets on retention, growth and profitability. The sales manager will be accountable for the creation of budgets and plans for growth and market development, taking account external and internal factors to the business, across multiple sectors and multiple environments.
Duties
* To effectively lead and manage a sales team and resources to deliver profitable growth in line with set budgets within the company framework.
* Create a culture of success, driving business and goal achievement.
* Establish team and individual budget and strategies to achieve growth and profitability within customer base.
* Provide detailed and accurate forecasting
* Fully promote and incorporate digitalization and automation strategies to create efficiencies
* Develop and recruit a team focused on customer account development and maximizing return from existing and potential customer base.
* Coordinate training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company growth objectives.
* Develop and manage an infrastructure and system to drive the success of an agile sales team in a multi-location setting.
* Working with the Supply Chain and Procurement function to identify and develop new product and supplier opportunities to achieve profitable growth.
* Regular reviews of the team performance. Identifying and addressing underlying issues through effective performance management.
* Acting as an exemplar salesperson in supporting his/her sales team
* Maintain excellent customer records following Company Policy Corporate Legislation.
* Coordination of activities both internal and external to ensure contract deliverables are met
* Create a ‘Stronger Together’ team environment promoting cross functional working with a focus on customer centricity.
* Supports and encourages innovation and idea generation within the sales team.
* Adherence to Company Policy on stock, purchasing and credit limits.
Experience
Essential:
* Previous experience in a Sales Management position
* Develop Internal and External Relationships at all levels
* Commercial Awareness & Negotiation skills
* Customer Service Focus
* Analytical Skills
* Excellent interpersonal / communication skills inc. customer presentations
* Excellent mentoring, coaching and good people management skills
* Flexible, adaptable and prepared to learn
* Driving license and willingness to travel
Desirable:
* An understanding of MaaS
* Multi-metal sales experience
* Project management experience
* Raw Materials/ metallic’s knowledge
* Experience with SAP
