We are seeking a Regional Sales Engineer to cover Central England for a Company that supplies instrumentation used to manage the UK Water Networks.
Regional Sales Engineer (Water Industry) – Role Overview
* Being responsible for your own sales across your region
* Travelling to visit existing and potential clients
* Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers
* Managing and interpreting customer requirements
* Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs
* Calculating client quotations
* Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions
* Offering after-sales support services
* Administering client accounts
* Analysing costs and sales
* Meeting regular sales targets
* Recording and maintaining client contact data
* Co-ordinating sales projects
* Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
* Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product/service will meet client needs
Candidates who have previously worked in the Water Industry with a technical background will be seriously considered as the role is not a traditional sales role. The role can be thought of as a Client, Key Account Manager or Business Development role. However, the ability to deal with technical issues as they arise is important.
The role would suit someone looking for a new challenge with this background. Candidates with no previous sales experience will be strongly considered if they have water industry experience (e.g. candidates who have been senior engineers or project managers).
Regional Sales Engineer (Water Industry) – Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar role in the Water Industry preferred but not essential
* Candidates who have technical/mechanical experience rather than sales experience will be seriously considered
* Candidates who have relevant qualifications in an engineering or electrical engineering discipline are preferred
* You must be adaptable due to the reactive nature of the business.
* Sound judgement and good business sense
* Teamworking ability
* The ability to build relationships with clients quickly
* You will have excellent customer facing skills and be happy in a role that will require travel to client sites when required.
* A full driving licence
* You should be willing to travel regularly
Regional Sales Engineer (Water Industry) – Benefits Package
* A starting salary of between £45,000 and £50,000pa
