Shawcor, established in Great Yarmouth for over 40 years supplying products and services to the aeronautical, space, oil & gas, material science, nuclear, global energy and military and defence industries are seeking a Business Development & Sales Manager to help drive the business forward with ambitious plans for growth. The Shawcor main office is in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk and it is expected that the successful candidate will spend time attending the office to maintain relationships and business knowledge. A proportion of time will be spent visiting customers who are spread across the South West & Midlands. We are happy to offer candidates the opportunity of working from home for any remaining time, hence we are flexible on a candidate's physical location in the country – all we require is someone with a full UK driving licence who is prepared to travel to suit business demands.
As the Business Development & Sales Manager at Shawcor you will:
* Secure sales of industrial non-destructive testing (NDT) solutions to increase the financial performance and profitability of the Inspection Systems business.
* Develop relationships with existing customers.
* Secure new business within new sectors / industries / countries.
* Be responsible for marketing activities, tender identification, submissions and follow up, contract negotiations, terms and conditions reviews and project kick off activities.
We are looking for a Business Development & Sales Manager with the following attributes:
* Educated to degree level in a technical subject.
* Experience of bespoke, high value engineering design and manufacture.
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to translate customer requirements into detailed written specifications.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen.
* Ability to participate as a senior member of the management team, helping to develop a culture of continuous improvement.
* Tenacity and self determination.
* Experience of NDT is preferable but not essential.
