A leading distributor of premium electrical appliances is looking for a proactive Business Development Manager to be instrumental in developing their recently established commercial division within the business. Focusing on floor care and air purification products, you will be driving growth in commercial sectors including but not limited to hospitality, healthcare, managed accommodation (student, retirement villages and private), schools and education, hotels, facility management and offices.
The business you will be joining is part of a global group of specialist distribution businesses who have continued to support them and drive growth. Based in state of the art and purpose-built premises in Cambridgeshire, they have been extremely successful and continue to grow by 50% year on year.
Role Responsibilities
As a Business Development Manager, you will:
Be instrumental in developing the business' commercial division that will play a critical role in the growth of the business over the coming years
Primarily focus on floor care and air purification brands
Develop a strong sales strategy by channel and by brand, which is closely aligned to brand partners to ensure you meet and exceed their growth targets and future ambitions
Define retail sales targets, annual forecasts and implement necessary measures to secure their fulfilment and present internally and externally to brand partners regularly
Liaise internally with the sales operation manager and brand managers to ensure sufficient stock is available and aligned with planned marketing activities
Provide input to marketing to ensure materials such as price lists, commercial websites, customer events and special promotions are planned in sufficient timeRewards
As a Business Development Manager, you will receive:
Competitive starting salary between £40,000 – £45,000, possibly more for the right person

To be successful in this Business Development Manager role, you should have:
Experience within the commercial sector (minimum 3 years) and of managing tenders
A proven ability to develop and structure new business
An entrepreneurial spirit with strong organisational and communication skills
Current relationships with contacts within key distribution channels
Flexibility for frequent travel and occasional international trips, as required
