Job Description:
Salary: £45 – 55k per year (negotiable dependent on experience) + commission.
Additional salary information: 6% employer pension contribution + eligible for annual 15% bonus

Summary:
Our client is a manufacturing group with revenue which exceeds £5m, they have been in business for over 27 years and focus on manufacturing plastic products in the UK through these two business areas:
Manufacturing plastic machined & fabricated products for a large range of UK industry sectors from medical to manufacturing machinery, from the clients’ 12000sq ft facility in Milton Keynes.
They manufacture predominantly using flat sheet plastics for UK-based product manufacturers, serving over 250 active customers who represent a wide array of UK manufacturing, research & development, Automation and Aerospace industries – from lab equipment to special purpose machinery to warehouse equipment and many other Industry sectors.
The Business Development manager will form a key part of the executive management team, as the client looks to expand the number of customers and broaden the customer base beyond the current operating level.
The main responsibilities for this position will be:
Supply the executive management team with reports on existing customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities,
Establishing relationships with new clients and identifying the potential for new products and services.
Preparing quotations and processing customer orders.
Liaising with the Operations Manager to agree manufacturing methods. workshop documentation “job packs”, engineering drawings
Providing input to our quality processes.
Handling & storing of customer documents and internal documents.
Responding to customer information requests and other customer service tasks.
Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
Maintain a clear sales and marketing strategy So to be successful at the role, you will need the following skills:
Proven work experience as a business development manager in the plastic manufacturing and fabrication market.
A focus on delivering sales targets
The ability to keep multiple tasks underway at any one time.
The ability to create a clear sales and marketing strategy.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
The ability to take initiative.
The ability and willingness to pitch in where needed. The role requires extensive use of a computer so it is important that you are comfortable with using a PC.
Specifically, looking for:
• general literacy with Windows-based PCs and networks.
• general literacy with Internet and cloud-based software.
• excellent knowledge of MS Office MS Excel and Word in particular.
• ability to learn new software and adapt to changes in processes.
The office hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 to 5:30. The offices are closed on all Bank Holidays and between Christmas and New Year. The client will offer some flexibility in your shift pattern to suit your personal circumstances if needed
