The Role
Field based position focusing on merchants branches (National and Independent) in the South of England.
Will be given a focussed set of accounts to start off with
Some will be the local branches of larger groups and others you will be responsible for on every level, to head office and all aspects of the account.
Strategically laid out role.
Helping the independent merchant's businesses, creating a marketplace for them into which your products are the focus.
Will involve trade mornings, breakfast mornings; going to the independent merchant's customers and bringing business back through to the merchant. Joint strategy to increase business for both of you. Even an element of market research.
The Candidate
A dynamic and driven sales person – will consider current ASMs + showroom/trade counter sales people too.
Excellent Communication skills, Perseverance, Self-disciplined, structured in approach, Bonus motivated, Sales focussed.
A couple of years of sales experience, ideally within the plumbing, bathrooms, heating, tooling or related industry.
The person can work for a merchant or showroom and be looking to get out on the road; would be ideal if they had some field sales, but not essential.
Someone who knows upselling, cross-selling, who has an analytical mind, can spot gaps in sales. This is multi-platform merchant selling, a huge product range. You have to think strategically about how to make the sale – price based, needs based, quality based, innovation based, etc. Find the route that works, per merchant, per products.
The person MUST realise, if they come from a none field sales background, that you have to be self-motivated and field sales can be a lonely role.
The Package
Basic £32,000
OTE + £4-5,000 realistically
