We manufacture a range of industrial consumables (abrasives, de burring brushes and associated products) used by a wide range of manufacturing and engineering clients. Covering East Midlands, Home Counties & East Anglia this Area Sales Manager role is a 50/50 split between new and existing business, selling to both OEMs and Distributors.
SALARY: £35,000 – £40,000

Territory: Based from home you will cover – Main focus Warwickshire (B/CV), Nottinghamshire (NG), Derby (DE), Leicester (LE,) Northampton (NN), Oxfordshire (OX), but with some accounts in Cambridgeshire (CB/PE), Norfolk (NR), and Suffolk (IP)
You could currently live: Anywhere on the patch although preferably not in the extremes, ideally Northampton, Peterborough, Milton Keynes, Coventry, Leicester
Job Specification: Area Sales Manager – Industrial Consumables
The successful candidate will own the territory and drive the growth of business through existing and new customers. You will not be heavily KPI'd as we want to recruit people who know how to do their job, we certainly will not be calling in the morning to make sure you have packed your lunch, that said, we are here when you need us!
We have a huge product range for you to offer new and existing clients solving all their surface treatment needs. Therefore your days will be spent:
· Splitting your time between OEM and distributor accounts (circa 100) and targeting new business (predominantly new OEM's although new distributors partners shouldn't be discounted).
· Focusing primarily on the Automotive and Aerospace markets. We also sell into Oil & Gas, Polishing, Metal finishing, Agriculture and professional cleaning.
· Selling to a wide range of decision markets (buying/procurement teams to Engineering/General Managers).
· Managing order values ranging from £250 to £35,000 with lead times from next day to circa 8 weeks.
· Ensuring your territory achieves its target of £600,000+ next year.
What experience should you have:
Most of the decision markers or influencers you will be talking to will have a technical/engineering mindset, it would help if you do as well.
We need you to have managed a territory (based from home) and have previous experience of selling direct to OEM's (automotive/aerospace/metal fabrication an advantage). Any industrial component or consumable experience would transfer well. Obviously if you have previously managed distribution or reseller relationships this will be an advantage as its a different sales cycle to end users.
We like our staff to feel valued and give them the autonomy to succeed (you should know more about your customers than we do), ultimately you are the face of the business and the conduit for growth. It would be great to see how you can demonstrate where you have taken ownership in the past and how you deliver for your customers

We are part of a large American conglomerate spanning 12 countries (Head Office is in Germany) which enables us to lay claim to be the world's largest manufacturer of industrial surface treatment consumables. Our UK operation is ever growing and in 2019 year hit £7million. As a close-knit team we want to push on to continue to cement our market share by hiring a sales professional in the home counties. The Covid situation has been tough to manage but we are still a double digit business in the UK and are now looking for new team member to drive business.
It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets, and worked with the following products and/or services: Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Key Account Manager – tools, resins, chemicals, bearings, seals, adhesives, lubricants, PPE, tape, automotive refinish, industrial distributors (catalogue sell) and many more.
