We are currently seeking a Senior Buyer to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Stokenchurch, UK. As a Senior Buyer your role will be to play a lead role in supplier negotiation and purchasing decisions within the company. With an anticipated spend of over £8m per annum the success of this position will be achieved by establishing lasting supplier relations with overseas suppliers.
Key duties and responsibilities….
* Ability to build strong internal and external working relationships
* Point of contact for key international suppliers, particularly in India and China
* To undertake regular supplier review meetings, ensuring business objectives are met and deliveries are on track.
* To review and expedite stock delivery dates accordingly
* Monitoring and improving supplier performance to meet target OTIF
* Liaise with alternative suppliers where supply issues arise
* To support and help prompt re-sourcing projects
* To monitor and ensure the fulfilment of sales forecasts
* Providing monthly reports against KPIs, identifying the successes and challenges and recommending areas for improvement

* Excellent administration skills, quality driven and clear attentive to detail
* Able to communicate clearly and in a professional manner to achieve results and support colleagues and clients
* Good analytical and numerical skills
* Strong and professional communication and time management skills
* Firm but fair negotiation and influencing skills
* Marketing experience
* Experience in a previous international buying role
* A proven track record of dealing with Indian/Chinese suppliers is a distinct advantage
