Who are they looking for?
Our client are seeking a sales and cash analyst to join the finance team at the company’s Head Office in Milton Keynes. This is a role that, along with bank reconciliations and sales postings, involves a significant amount of reconciling and investigating credit card, cash and customer account movements. The role is accountable for ensuring sales are reported accurately across the business.

Excellent excel skills, including using formulas and lookups
Retail experience
Double entry knowledge
The ability to work as part of a successful financial team
The ability to communicate and work with stores/area managers and the customer services team
Excellent time management skills
Duties include:
Sales reporting
Produce daily and weekly sales reports to be sent out to the business for retail and online, comparing against targets.
Reconcile sales between different systems, understanding the differences.
Sales to Cash reconciliation
Compare cash received from Paypal, Amex, Global Pay or cheques to the sales system, ensuring amounts are fully reconciled.
Investigate timing differences, including customer’s credits on accounts and outstanding refunds to ensure all cash differences are understood and resolved.
Reconcile sales of gift cards, and purchases made using gift cards between the gift card external provider and the Rohan Designs sales system, understanding all differences and ensuring they’re resolved.
Match transactions off through the accounting system, ensuring suspense accounts for cash timing is fully reconciled.
Stores Banking and cash
Reconcile till floats and store banking to ensure amounts declared by stores match till amounts, and money banked.
Ensure all stores have a method to deposit cash, and that cash is banked regularly.
Till discrepancies
Understand and report all till discrepancies, working with stores to minimise these.
Process refunds for customers
Chargebacks and refund queries
Review chargebacks and work with the customer services or digital team to understand the cause of these and to minimise going forward.
Provide refund evidence if queried by customers
Bank reconciliations
Download bank statements and upload to the accounting system
Process journals automatically created from the bank statement, manually adjusting for any exceptions in the automated process.
Provide a list of DD payments to Accounts Payable
Investigate and journal any remaining bank transactions on accounting system
Fully reconcile all accounts
Petty Cash and foreign currency
Manage petty cash for the office and foreign currency staff loans for International trips.
Amex and Paypal fees
Process Amex and Paypal fees, ensuring journals are reviewed and checked.
Cheques
Issue cheques and bank cheques as and when required.
Stores Queries
Any queries stores have regarding EPOS, Petty Cash, PDQ machines, etc.
Social Fund Reconciliation
Manage the social fund and reconcile monthly
Company Credit Cards
Managing company credit card limits and issuing of cards
Ad-Hoc Projects
Any projects or work required by members of the team or manager
Team support
Occasional support to the rest of the finance team to help cover holidays, sickness or peaks of work.
