Retail Horticultural Team Leader

£25 – 30,000 + Package & Benefits

The Role

Reporting to the site General Manager the role takes day to day responsibility for all day to day department duties including:

* Ensuring a seasonal product offer remains commercially attractive, well maintained and that all aspects of the product, from indoor and outdoor plants to garden accessories and sundries are kept in good condition and are attractively merchandised.

* Oversee a team of General Assistants, maintaining customer service and overall department standards.

* Be on hand to offer inspirational and expert horticultural advice to customers to increase their knowledge and confidence in the garden.

* Monitoring stock package and layout in order to improve sales

The Candidate

You might be an expert horticulturist, a knowledgeable and enthusiastic gardener or someone with a love of gardening and a desire to learn more. Regardless, you'll ideally also have some management or supervisory experience although not necessarily in retail as there is plenty of training and one-to-one support should it be required. What is important is a belief in managing people fairly and supportively and a willingness to lead by example where necessary. Ultimately this role will appeal to individuals who want to broaden their knowledge and work for a household name in the Garden Centre & Nursery business.
