Production and Procurement Manager
£45,000 – £60,000 – negotiable depending on experience.
We're looking for a Production and Procurement Manager to join an Innovative and well-established manufacturing business, based in Milton Keynes.
As a Production and Procurement Manager, you'll be involved in the planning, coordination and control of the manufacturing processes. You'll be responsible for sourcing materials, equipment, goods and services and managing vendors.
You'll manage the workload and output of production, performing strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend and will be responsible for stock control, and QC daily.
As Production and Procurement Manager, some of your duties will include:
Coordinate and plan production schedule, ensuring it is cost effective.
Monitor product standards and implement quality control programmes.
Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed.
Supervise and motivate a team of c12.
Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies with key suppliers – metal fabrications, castings, steel and aluminium bar/plate, diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, hoses and components.
Progress chase suppliers in support of production schedule, manage and mitigate risks.
Determine quantity, quality and timing of deliveries to meet customer requirements.
Forecast price and market trends to identify changes.
Ideally you will have the following skills and experience:
Strong purchasing and production knowledge.
Experience as Operations Manager in an engineering field is desirable but will also consider candidates looking to step up into a senior management role
Experience of machine shop processes and workshop planning.
IT literate – various technologies and programmes, Epicor Vantage in particular.
Commercially astute with strong negotiation and networking skills.
Able to gather and analyse data and to work with figures.
Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
