Are you a purchasing and procurement professional with generalist experience across multiple categories? A market leader in the plastic packaging and chemical industry is recruiting for Buyer to join their team based in Milton Keynes! This is a full time permanent role working Monday – Friday 8am-4pm (37.5 hours) plus annual bonus (6% of salary based on Company, Award Unit & Individual performance), summer and Christmas shut down, 25 days AL, and a generous pension scheme (up to 12% employer contribution) on a basic salary of £26-32,000 (dependent on experience).
 
Reporting to the Logistics Operations Manager, you will be responsible for inbound supply chain activities including the pricing of raw materials, ensuring a cost effective and timely manner is adhered to so continuity of production is maintained. As Buyer, you will purchase packaging, office equipment, consumables, and raw materials, using SAP to process purchase orders, managing suppliers, proposing new suppliers and liaising with local procurement. You will have day to day liaison with Production Planners and Goods Inwards with regards to production, as well as contract management for logistics site services and administrative contract support.
 
We are keen to hear from applicants with previous purchasing and procurement experience from a similar organisation. Any knowledge of plastics, chemicals or packaging would be great although not essential. Excellent IT skills including advanced knowledge of Excel and SAP is required with proven skills in negotiation and managing supplier performance effectively.
