Job Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this is a newly created position which has been developed to support the ongoing growth, and success, of the business. The Buyer will be responsible for the procurement of all raw materials and utilities for the business, in addition to implementing and delivering procurement strategies across key spend areas.
The candidate will ensure the business operates total cost effective purchasing, while still meeting the business quality standards. They will drive synergies and look for opportunities to leverage costs across multiple suppliers, and in doing so conduct supplier rationalisation.
The candidate will be responsible for negotiation, drafting and administration of purchasing contracts, including payment terms, transportation and other terms and conditions to the benefit of the company.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for effective management and procurement of raw materials
• Responsible for management, performance and selection of suppliers
• Conduct effective risk mitigation
• Monitor & review supplier performance, and identify & implement improvements
• Identify key cost saving opportunities to deliver positive Product Price Variances
• Negotiation, drafting and administration of purchasing contracts to offer optimum savings to the business
• Monitor market developments and competitor activity to drive effecting sourcing and price points
• Forecast requirements and order products to meet sales/planning demand
• Support the NPD process to identify new product demands, schedules and procurement needs
• Reconcile discrepancies with the supplier and finance department
• Offer support to all areas of the business as and when required
Personal Profile
• Previous procurement experience within food manufacturing
• Strong successful negotiation skills
• Experience of drafting contracts and T&Cs
• Excellent organisation and administrative skills
• Relationship management skills
• Good analytical ability, with accuracy and attention to detail
• Self-motivated and resourceful
• Results driven
The Package
• Salary up to £37,000k pro-rata to 20 hours (£18,500 per annum)
• KPI based bonus scheme to be defined and paid at the management’s discretion
• 20 days holiday, increasing to a maximum of 25 days + Bank Holidays
• 20 hours per week
• Free onsite parking
