Are you looking to pursue a career in purchasing within a manufacturing/production environment and consider yourself to be a highly motivated individual who finds building strong working relationships easy?

A leading and established manufacturing business, based in Milton Keynes, are currently looking for a Junior Buyer to join their Purchasing team and work under the Purchasing Manager.

The Junior Buyer will be responsible for ensuring all the products the Purchasing team acquire are delivered on time and support all relevant associated documentation.

As the Junior Buyer you must be able to build strong working relationships in order to communicate technical information to people of all operating levels, as you will be in constant communication with customers throughout the production process.

A major part of the role will be estimating and quoting, alongside calling suppliers, chasing overdue orders and raising purchase orders when required.

This is very much an entry-level / 2nd role, so would ideally suit someone with some form of training / qualification within the purchasing / buying / procurement industry. This company would be willing to offer training and qualifications to aid personal and professional development.

Junior Buyer Requirements:

Previous experience working in a purchasing environment would be advantageous but not essential
An understanding of Engineering / Manufacturing / Production environments
The ability to understand BOM's would be a huge plus
Any form of CIPS or other purchasing qualification would also be advantageous.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Previous experience working in an office setting is beneficial
Must be confident and able to build strong working relationships
