Category manager | Range Management | Flexible Working | Fast Paced Grocery Retailer

Exciting commercial opportunity for a Category Manager with experience to join a large grocery retailer who can orchestrate ranges with the customer at the heart of the direction.

About the role

We are looking for a Category Manager to develop and shape the overall category strategy, principles and objectives in collaboration with key stakeholders that delivers a market leading proposition for customers.

This is a broad role where you will be the customer focused link between commercial and store operations. You will have an impact across the commercials, range & promotions, store format and ultimately in store execution

Key Responsibilities: ​

Source new brands, product and retail experiences in line with the strategy through knowledge and expertise of the product and market​
Manage the complete category management cycle including and not limited to, range development and the management of pricing
To continuously review current category performance identifying key trends and areas for potential growth
Keep up to date with current food market trends and new initiatives
Ensure that buying decisions are based on a sound commercial framework to drive sales and profits​
Assist in the planning and setup of new stores, so we can maximise sales from the outset and support with merchandising and store refitsA bit about you: ​

Managing all aspects of food category management within a fast-paced retail environment is essential
Highly knowledgeable. You will have a well-developed and informed understanding of the category, as well as the wider industry.
Strategic and operational. With strong analytical skills and experience driving long-term and profitable commercial strategies, you'll be able to successfully manage projects from concept through to completion. ​
Customer focused. Combined with exceptional taste and instinct, you are able to push the boundaries to offer new and exciting products
