RSR Justice is a niche recruitment agency, who provide staffing services to the criminal justice sectors and more specifically the probation service.

Our agency is currently recruiting for an experienced Victim Liaison Officer to work within the Probation Service in London.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Victim Liaison Team in the Milton Keynes area.

The main purpose of the role is to be the key contact for providing crucial ongoing advice to victims of serious crimes and assist with their assessment of risk throughout their time with the victim contact scheme.

These are contract positions from 3 months going anything up to 2 years.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* As a VLO you will be responsible for contacting victims of relevant offenders to inform them of their rights to information and the availability of the liaison service.

* As a VLO you will also be responsible for providing accurate information to participating victims about sentencing and release and maintain contact, where possible by a personal visit.

* You will prepare written reports on the circumstances and needs of participating victims for offender managers to assist with risk assessment.

* You will join a small and dedicated team within the service, which prides itself in working effectively with victims of serious crime.

* You will need to possess good IT skills and be able to ensure work is completed accurately within the timescales required. You will be able to multi-agency work to ensure the needs of the offender are supported.

* You’ll be able to communicate effectively with others and have the ability to develop productive working relationships with other agencies and your team.

Skills

* You will need to have experience of either working for the Probation Service as an Offender Manager or possess experience with case managing victims.

A current DBS is required for this role, which we can process for you and HMPPS Enhanced Level 1 vetting.
