Role: Contractor Escort

Location: HMP Grendon and Springhill, Edgcott, Aylesbury

Rate: £8.87 per hour PAYE, £10.64 per hour overtime rate

Duration: Temporary with the potential to be long term

We have an exciting opportunity for a Contractor Escort to work at the prison on behalf of our client, Gov Facility Services – a Ministry of Justice owned company.

The environment can be a challenging but rewarding one. You will be engaged on a temporary contract but due to the high demand of work, this opportunity will be long term. Once in the role, you will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position or to register your interest in other roles within the prison.

Both temporary and permanent candidates working for our client have been identified as key workers during the Covid-19 pandemic, due to the critical work that they undertake to maintain the prison estate.

The stability and security that they can offer is now more relevant than ever.

Purpose of the role:

You will be working with and supporting the Security team. Responsible for escorting building contractors throughout the prison and outside areas.

Other duties will include (but not be limited to):

Checking & searching contractors entering the site
Contractor tool checks and keeping a record of tools brought onto site
Supervising contractors whilst onsite
Searching buildings
Vehicle checks
Radio handling
Stores duties
Following Health & Safety procedures

Requirements:

No qualifications or previous experience is required as full training will be provided by the site. However, it is essential that you are able to communicate effectively as you will be liaising with contractors and your team on a daily basis.
You will be confident and possess good people skills
Must be vigilant and aware of your surroundings
Good attention to detail

To be able to work for our client, it is essential that you have the ability to pass a DBS of a standard/enhanced level. If you already hold a current DBS, EL1 or EL2, previous CTC clearance or have worked in that environment before, we are looking to speak to you!
